Judith Archibold, O.D.

Experience

Dr. Judith Archibold has been practicing optometry in upstate New York since 2011. Prior to joining Ophthalmic Consultants of the Capital Region, Dr. Judith Archibold practiced at Family Vision Care Center in Saratoga Springs, New York, and more recently at Kwiat Eye & Laser Surgery Center in Amsterdam, New York.

Education

Dr. Judith Archibold received her Doctor of Optometry degree from University of New York College of Optometry in New York, NY.  Prior to earning her Doctor of Optometry degree, Dr. Judith Archibold received a Master of Public Health in Nutrition from Tulane University, in New Orleans, Louisiana and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts. Dr. Judith Archibold also holds a Graduate Degree in Education.  She was a full-time high school classroom teacher, teaching AP Chemistry, Honors Chemistry, Regents Chemistry, Regents Physics, and the Principles of Physics.

Research

 Dr. Judith Archibold has performed medical research with Columbia University, Department of Medicine Division of Rheumatology in New York, New York.  Some of her co-authored, scientific articles were published in Nature and Journal of Experimental Medicine. She also co-authored a Laboratory Manual for Regents Chemistry for New Rochelle High School.

Affiliations

Dr. Judith Archibold is the current President of the Eastern Society Region of the New York State Optometric Association.  She is also a member of the American Optometric Association, and a Diplomat with the American Board of Optometry. Dr. Judith Archibold served as a mentor with the Astrobiology Teachers Academy in association with NASA and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).

Activities

Dr. Judith Archibold loves to give back to her community.  She currently volunteers her time performing vision screenings at the Special Olympics New York State Games. In the past, she has been very involved in her community by mentoring at the NRSH W.I.S.E. (Westchester Individualized Senior Experience) Program, teaching at the Heathcote Art Appreciation Program, coaching the First Lego League Robotics Competition and being a Girl Scout Leader.
