Schenectady’s The Daily Gazette is currently hosting its 2019 Best of the Best People’s Choice Awards, and both Dr. Allen Zieker and Dr. David Rabady of Ophthalmic Consultants of the Capital Region have been nominated for Best Ophthalmologist.

The Best of the Best People’s Choice Awards by The Daily Gazette aims to find the people, places, and businesses in the Capital Region which locals view as the very best and trust with their business, homes, health, and other aspects of their lives. Award categories include everything from hotels, local attractions, dining, shopping, and home repair service companies to individuals such as coaches, teachers, and first responders.

Not only do the awards recognize those individuals and businesses in the region who are offering their clients and patients outstanding service, but it also provides a guide for people as they look for a range of services, listing providers that are trusted and appreciated by the community.

The first phase of nominations for the contest has already been completed and the nominees have been selected for each category, including Dr. Allen Zieker and Dr. David Rabady for Best Ophthalmologist.

Dr. Allen Zieker is president and director of cataract surgery at Ophthalmic Consultants of the Capital Region and has been in practice for more than 33 years. Thousands of people in the Capital Region have benefited from Dr. Allen Zieker’s expertise as he performs more than 1,500 cataract surgeries annually. Working with cataract patients is Dr. Allen Zieker’s passion, and his commitment to seeking out the latest advancements in technology and treatment options can be seen as he is often the first ophthalmologist in New York—or even the U.S.—to offer his cataract patients the latest and most advanced treatments as they become available.

Dr. Rabady is a partner at Ophthalmic Consultants of the Capital Region and a retina specialist, treating various retinal diseases such as macular degeneration, macular pucker, diabetic retinopathy, flashes and floaters, and retinal detachments. Dr. Rabady is also at the forefront of his field in retinal eye care and was recently named a leading provider by NY Top Docs for 2019. Dr. Rabady exudes a genuine interest in all his patients and works with his patients to accommodate their schedules and special conditions—just one of the many reasons he was named a winner of Vitals’ 11^th annual Patients’ Choice Award earlier this year.

Voting is now open through Sunday, September 22 at 11:01 p.m. (EDT) to select the winners of the 2019 Best of the Best People’s Choice Awards.
