CONGRATULATIONS DR. PETER KANSAS ON YOUR RETIREMENT!! Dr. Kansas practiced Ophthalmology for over 52 years in the Capital Region. He served as a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology, founded Kansas Eye Surgery Associates and co-founded (along with Dr. Allen Zieker and Dr. Robert Sax) the Albany Regional Eye Surgery Center.

Dr. Kansas’ was awarded a U.S. patent for a Cataract Extraction Method and Instrument and in 1992, was chosen as one of the Ten Best Surgical Techniques in the World by Ocular Surgery News.

Dr. Kansas authored and co-authored textbooks, contributed to peer reviewed articles, trained thousands of eye surgeons and participated in International eye and surgical care missions to underdeveloped areas.

The entire staff of Ophthalmic Consultants, and in particular, Dr. Allen Zieker and Dr. Robert Sax wish to honor and congratulate Dr. Kansas on his remarkable career, his contribution to the field of Ophthalmology, and now on his retirement!
